Final Cut

First Version:

This is the first version of our final, using the rough cut we eliminated some shots that didn't work and replaced them with some ones we managed to improvise when filming. Such as the shots with the characters on the swings. We were happy with our final cut so we decided to post it on Youtube and link it to Facebook to receive some audience feedback. We were told that some of the shots were to long and that there wasn't enough going on at some points in the text. We took this into consideration and produced a second version of our final cut.

Final Version:

We made some of the changes that were suggested this included adding some more action to two main sections of our text. One of them was on a chorus were we added to more shots of the boy and girl characters. And the other was at the end while the band was performing. We decided to added a few shots of the characters going in reverse showing that the boy character is dreaming "of better days with you now", with the text reverting back to the beginning.

Our final version is both performance and narrative, like most other music videos in our genre we switch between performance and narrative. Overall I am happy with how our group performed and how we worked as a team to meet our deadlines despite the fact we lost a group member during the process of creating our text.

Rough Cut

Rough Cut:

This is our groups rough cut, in this we have put the shots we want to use in the correct order but with minimal editing. This is so we can have a rough idea of how each shot looks and how well the text looks as a whole.

In my opinion the shots that we storyboarded look the best as we were able to plan these beforehand allowing for more preparation on them. For example the 'Abbey Road Shot' this is one of our storyboarded shots and I feel this is framed particularly well and will work well in our final edit.

However one exception to this is were our boy character (Jack) is on with or pushing our girl character (Sophie) on the swings. I feel this shot is also framed well and when the shots are edited together will create a very strong effect.

For our final cut we need to tidy some shots up and decided on whether or not to include some shots that were filmed badly and whether we should deviate from the storyboard because of this.
